How To Cope With Your Home Business And Your Daily Tasks

One of the attractions of working at home is the vision of freedom it invokes.No time clock, no time sheets, and no one to account to for how you spend your time. Yes, it is an attractive proposition, but like so many attractive propositions there is a heavy downside. TIME WASTING.

 Yes I said it! I will admit I'm occasionally guilty of it as well.  I can easily get distracted if I allow it. And I'm not talking about emergencies. I'm talk more about pesky little things like. For example. Television, Social Media, Video Games and ect. 

Like so many other stay at home moms. I feel like there's never enough time in the day. Between  my 5 year daughter, my husband, household  chores, and my virtual  business. Oh and how can I forget. Trying to fit some time in, just for myself. It's just never enough time. 

So how does one stay on-task? The best way I've found is to have a To Do List. Which is best to plan it out the night before. So you know exactly what you need to accomplish the next day. 

Having my day  planned out has helped me tremendously.Which has improved my productivity. Now of  course I'm not saying that having a To Do List. Will stop emergencies from happening. Because that life! Also it's not  going to stop a million things, that will try to vie for your attention and time. It will even feel like the world is plotting against you. Like for instance.At this very moment as I'm writing this. My 5 years old . Keeps popping in and out the office asking for Popcorn lol.

Having a To Do List keeps you focus and motivated on the things that needs to be done for the day. I don't know if anyone else have notice this. But if you don't plan your day.Your day will  plan YOU. 

It's too easy to waste time doing non productive tasks. And if  not focus. It's easy to get sidetracked or distracted from your current task. When you don't schedule your time. Unscheduled work time can often overlap into your free time.Until you don't have any free time at all. Plus vice verse where your free time can overlap into your work time. Until you fall behind with your daily task. Concentrating your time and effort on your daily task means more gets done.

 So whether you write your To Do List on paper, use Google Calendar, or One Note. It doesn't matter. As Nike says "Just Do It'. 

Just like having a schedule working outside the home. You would need a schedule working at home. And if you don't think you need one. Then think again lol.

 The best way to chart yourself to successful. Is to take care of  business and stay on task.

Offline Marketing

Hello everyone!

                          The last time we spoke. I talked about some Free And Low Cost Ways To Generate Traffic Online . So it's only natural I share with you about offline marketing today. 

 Now when it comes to marketing.Some online business owners tend to limit themselves to online marketing methods. However  there is a huge potential to promote your home based business through some cost effective offline marketing strategies.

Now once again I like to point out. I'm NO expert, however what I do know. I'm more then happy to share. So, what  are the most effective offline marketing strategies for your home based business? Here are just a few. 

Word of mouth:Word of mouth is one of the best and a  free way  to advertise.We all have people we interact with on a daily basis, and these are potential customers/business partners. 

Make a list of all the people you know or interact with, and how can you best tell them about your online business. Be passionate about your business, and always be prepared to tell someone about it. When an opportunity to do so presents itself. Now I know is easier said then done. I have been guilty of it myself in the past. Keeping my business to myself. However after doing over and over. It does gets easier. 

Fliers: Fliers can be effective.You could create one to distribute to your local businesses in your area, and one for neighborhoods. Highlighting the benefits of an online business.

Most businesses have company bulletin boards.That are use to put up the company’s latest news and/or local news in the area. Fliers can be tacked on such bulletin boards. But before doing so, check to make sure it's okay with the stores HR or customer service department before placing the information.

Other places to place fliers.Which I have personally done. Is car windshields, newspaper holders.(That are underneath the mailbox in neighborhoods), free magazine and free local newspaper stands. I place them in the magazine/newspapers itself or if time is limited. I would place one on top of the magazine/newspaper.

Business Cards: Just like fliers you can disturbed them  in your local area. There great to place on bulletin boards as well. Give out to friends, neighbors,church members or anyone you meet.

What I personally do. When I go to the grocery store, I will leave one in the buggy. I also hit the magazine stand section. And place them in the home business magazines. I also do that when I go to the book store as well. 

Another great place that I place my business cards. Are in the envelopes of bills going out to be mailed. Every time myself  and my husband pays a bill. I will place my business card in the envelop along with the check.( Now of course if your paying your bills online this option will not work for you.)  smile :) 

Newspapers and magazines: Local newspapers are good for advertising your online business. Most local papers have an home business opportunities section, where you can  run an classified ad. 

In addition, even thought I have not personally tried this myself. However I  have  heard of people using this method. Contact your local newspaper or business-oriented magazine. And let the business editor know you have a new business, your web site, and what you have to offer.

 Local newspapers are frequently interested in featuring local business people and their accomplishments. This is FREE advertising. You can also contact your local magazine and offer to write a monthly or weekly guest column for them, and include your ‘author bio’ and home based business website.

Networking Parties : Networking Parties or Meetup. Are a great opportunity to network with other like minded people. To share your opportunity with local people in your community and beyond. 

If you go to meetups.com,you can find one in your local area.  Now some meetups are free and there are some that are not. The prices differ. It depend on the organizer of that particular meetup. For what they decide to charge for the monthly dues. 

 So they you have it! These are just a few ways. To market offline. There are many more ways you can.

 The offline marketing strategies outlined above can help you grow your home based business. I have used most of these strategies a lot and they do work. Just like online it will take some effort and consistently for it to pay off. So while the weather is great. This is the best time to get out there and promote your business offline!

Dedication and Determination.Do You Have It?

Do you have what it takes and the willingness to achieve your goals? In your personal and business life?  What about staying power? Have you made up in your mind that no matter what or how long it takes. I'm going to make it? What about fears? Are you allowing fears to rule your life? 

 I personally can say I've been guilty of fears in the past, and I'm sure even at times still now. Depending on the situation.  However I have learned and still learning how to work through certain fears. Now don't get me wrong I don't know everything. Nor do I protest that I do. However I do believe in some cases a small amount of fear is healthy. For example my fear of heights and snakes.(But that a whole different subject for another day lol. So I digress).  

Some people have fears when it comes to doing an home business. Because  they might  have doubts whether they can  sell the product they invested in or services. 

Most often, fears come in several forms in business. Either we worry about not being liked, or being perceived as pushy, we worry that our product or service might not perform as we say, or we struggle with the idea of rejection. Knowing the source of your fear (sometimes it can be a combination) is an important part of overcoming your fears.

It's important to take action to address your fears in business. So that you can overcome them.Where you can keep your focus on your WHY's. Which is the purpose of starting your  own business in the first place.

Start small! Very often, people tend to tackle projects much larger than they can comfortably handle. For example.  When you want to overcome your fear of selling you should start small. Maybe you can share your new business with a few trusted friends first, and then gradually find ways to expand your sharing to include a larger circle.

 The most successful business people are those who interact with others in an authentic, passionate way.So find a way that feels comfortable with you and stay with it. I've come to learn throughout the years.Being in business. It doesn't matter  to  people how much you know. It matter more how much you show them.How much you care about them and there success.

Another technique to overcoming the fear of selling. Is to tap into your passion and enthusiasm for what you are offering. You have to have passion for whatever  your doing. Believe me people can tell if you don't. Have your list of your WHY's nearby.Where you can see it everyday.That way it  keeps your passion alive, and your reasons for  having your own business. 

Keep track of your successes by keeping a "wins" or success journal nearby and record your achievements in it each day. Doesn't matter how big or small. This also will help you keep focus and motivated. 

Have fun with your business.Rather than approaching this from a heavy "have to" or "doesn't feel good" perspective. (This helps also to keeps the fears away)!

And lastly. I can not stress this enough. It important to stay focused on your desired outcome. Keep your WHY's in front of you.  Most people take action and reach their goals because they stay focused. When staying focused. Especially  on your challenging days. A slow week, or month. Keeping focus on your WHY's. Where it in your face and in your subconscious  mind.  Can help take you to the next level.

Starting Your Own Online Business

Hello everyone! Patricia Stevenson here. 

The last time we talked. I discuss the "Benefits of have an Online Business". Well today I want to continue, and  talk about starting your own online/home-based business.

There are literally thousands of affiliate marketing programs/business opportunities. Available online and off. Where you can start your own home-based business.

People choose to work from home, for several reasons. Including the desire to stay home with their children, the need for extra income, or simply being dissatisfied with their current job. A home-based business will provide you with an exciting way to make money and be your own boss. 

When starting your home-based business you should develop a  plan and research your options thoroughly, doing your due diligence. And making a plan and following it each step of the way. It  can help you stay focus and gives you a   blue print on how to create a steady stream of income.

 Operating an home-based business will require hard work and effort. You will not become wealthy over night. It will take determination to succeed as an internet marketer/business owner. The amount of money you make will be directly related to the amount of work you are willing to put into it.

 Now when you create your plan. Write it down and make it plain. You want to include both short and long term goals. Determine how you will achieve those goals and put your plan into action. Like I mentioned earlier.There are numerous home-based  businesses out there. You just have to choose the one that's best for YOU.That will create a steady income if you are willing to make the effort.

Now some of these opportunities may require an initial investment from you and they are others that you can start for free. However I can not stress enough. Doing your due diligence. Any business your interested in, make sure your careful to understand the terms and conditions, and the in's and the out's.

 When  starting your journey in the home-base business world. Once you find the business of your choice. There will be times where self doubt creeps in. (Because where human). And you will start to wonder, and do the what ifs.  Do not let self-doubt stop you from accomplishing your goals.  Believe in yourself and your abilities. Knowing you have GREATNESS in YOU.  Mixing that with hard work and determination. You will see your home-based business  be successful  and provide you with a steady stream of income. If you don't quit!

 Make customer service a top priority. Whether your doing Sales, MLM, Direct Marketing , or Affiliate. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Don't just get the sale and run.  Not offering assistants. Especially when you build a  team. 

 As Zig Zilar says  "You get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want." That another important  key to the success or failure  in  business. 

  To sum it up, Having an home-based business is an excellent way to gain independence and financial freedom. For you and your family.

The Benefits Of An Online Business

                          Patricia Stevenson here!  Today I will be discussing about  the benefits of having an Online Business. As anyone knows, that has there own online business. That there are many wonderful factors when it comes to starting or owning  one. 

For those that are reading this today and considering having  there own online business. That is either looking to supplement or replace there current income outside their home. I would just like to share with you some of the benefits.

 When it comes to starting your own business online. There are many benefits, however here are just a few for you to consider.

Who wouldn't love to do that! Being able to work at home. The only commute you have is down the hall or downstairs to your office. Which saves you on  gas. Plus there's no overhead to worry about.

Working for yourself is a wonderful thing. Not having to answer to anyone. Not having to listen to a boss complaining about everything and anything. Especially if their in a bad mood or worst if they don't like you or vice verser .  Being at home you would have peace of mind, and be less stressful.

Is a great way to supplement your income.  It's also a starting point if your goal is to fire your boss, and  work at home for yourself. I'm not sure what your goal is.   However I must point out.There are many cases where someone enjoys there job, however there not making enough to cover some expenses or  they received a pay cut. And depending how successful they are with  that business.They could possibly whined up making much more from there supplement or make enough to where they see it's feasible to be home, and  replace there main income completely.

Having your own online business.For example you can write off  your internet, phone, utilities, any online tools that you use to promote or run your business, the square footage  of your work area, and etc. Of course it is suggested  to consult with your  tax professional. 

As I mention there many more benefits, as well as luxuries of having an online business and working from home. The money you can save, and the freedom you can have is wonderful, and a great option for anyone that enjoys working independently. Working at home might not be for everyone, but for  those that dream of doing so. It is possible! And beside it never hurts to  have a second, or in some cases a third income coming inside the home.
